Alejandro Rodriguez is currently the Head of Applications Development (Americas) at Solvay Composite Materials. In this role, Alejandro is responsible for the development and implementation of novel composite material processing for the aerospace and defense industry. Prior to this position, he was a Customer Engineering Manager from 2021-2022 and Senior Applications Engineer from 2015-2021. Before his tenure at Solvay, Alejandro was a materials and process engineer at Bombardier Aerospace from 2011-2015.
Alejandro's work has focused on the development of composite manufacturing processes, characterization of properties of polymer composites, modeling and simulation of composite fabrication, effects of defects in composite performance, and certification of materials and processes. Most recently, he has been working on the development and implementation of materials and processes for automated high-rate manufacturing of composite structures.
Alejandro received his doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from Wichita State University in 2010. He currently lives in Southern California where he resides with his wife and two kids and enjoys bbqing / grilling in his free time.
